Early in his career, the rapper naturally followed in the footsteps of his mentor, embracing the signature sound of “sons à la Jul” — a style that went viral and, as Jul himself revealed on Clique TV, even reached all the way to Sweden.
Over time, Moubarak broke away from that influence to carve his own path.
In his search for artistic identity, he delivered the project “Cicatrices”, an ambitious musical short film directed by DrB, followed by “Solide” — a more melancholic and introspective record.
The project features collaborations with Ghost Dog and !Grek, confirming his willingness to explore new emotional and sonic territories.
Today, Moubarak returns with a brand-new single titled “Je savais”.
Beneath its energetic beat lies a song driven by honesty and vulnerability, where the artist blends rhythm with introspection, reflecting on his emotions, regrets, and life journey with raw authenticity.

The instrumental production is handled by Yazou, who also worked on the iconic “Freestyle 13 Organisé 2” alongside Stef Becker.
With its lively drums and powerful basslines, the beat carries that unmistakable Marseille flavor — a sound popularized by Jul and Naps, now resonating far beyond French borders.
Moubarak drops a few lines filled with reflection and awareness:
“Too many things have happened / Real bonds have broken / Once that line is crossed”
The visual, directed by DrB, portrays Moubarak wandering alone through an empty city — a striking metaphor for solitude and creative introspection.
A longtime collaborator, DrB has directed most of the rapper’s videos, including “Rien n’est gratuit”, “Cerveau grillé”, and “J’ai mes raisons”.
