Bag Jeune B Steps Up With “Back to Bag #4”

Freshly signed to DJ Bellek’s Morning Glory label, Bag Jeune B is kicking off this new chapter of his career with the “Back to Bag” freestyle series. In an interview with Billboard France, Bellek summed up his approach to developing artists with a football analogy: “When I play FIFA, I play Career Mode. I sell all my star players and go looking for young prospects.” With Bag Jeune B, Favé, Yoko from Sarcelles and Decimo from Mantes-la-Jolie, DJ Kore’s brother has clearly surrounded himself with a promising new generation. The numbers are gradually rising too. In 2025, Bag Jeune B released his debut EP, Brique par Brique. While his music carries obvious influences from the US rap scene, there is more to him than aesthetics alone: he is a technically sharp rapper with a carefully crafted approach to flow.

Back in 2023, Favé was already predicting what might come next. At the end of an interview with Tsugi, he said: “Bag Jeune B is coming up very, very strong.” Looking at the evolution between the first Back to Bag freestyle and the fourth installment he has just released, the difference is striking. Both musically and visually, the quality has moved up a level, and Bag Jeune B increasingly looks like an artist ready to step into a new phase of his career.

The production is handled by Laskrt. The producer has recently worked with JRK 19, notably on his collaboration with La Mano 1.9, Le Plan, as well as with Freeze Corleone on 112. The beat shifts tempo as the track progresses. While Back to BAG #4 remains firmly rooted in rap, the atmosphere grows noticeably darker during its second half. The transition is not a complete break, however, but rather a way of reshaping the mood without losing the track’s continuity. It is a technique other French rappers have explored before, including Beendo Z in his Inspiré de faits réels freestyle series and DA Uzi in his WeLaRue series.

Along the way, Bag Jeune B delivers some clever egotrip bars, including:

“Few people know me, but a lot of people follow me.”

The carefully crafted visuals are directed by NexLab. Rather than simply stringing together the usual street-video shots for Back to BAG #4, the director gives the freestyle a much more ambitious visual treatment. Considerable attention has clearly gone into the production, with polished cinematography playing a central role. Throughout the video, Bag Jeune B appears alongside his crew, portraying a world caught between street life, luxury and jewellery.
