Mahelene unveils the visual for GogeTa!

Mahelene, a name that symbolizes the union of parents, lies at the heart of the musician’s work. This family dimension is essential to understanding his art. The artist has just completed a poignant diptych, exploring the themes of grief and rebirth. In his first project, L’acidité des larmes, he embarks on a deep introspection, expressing dark and intense emotions. His music, a reflection of his troubled psyche at that time, moves through shadowy tones. On July 14th, he revealed Second souffle, a project under the banner of “Renaissance”, where he continues to explore the fusion of genres, but this time with a glimmer of hope.

Mahelene : a unique artist!

While some rappers choose to perform masked, Mahelene stands out as an exception, having decided to step away from social media. These spaces, which he describes as realms of appearance and deceit, are, for him, incompatible with the authenticity of his music. Impossible to categorize into one specific genre or style, the artist distinguishes himself by his iconoclasm, skillfully navigating between rap, pop, and rock. If the first part of his diptych emphasized darker emotions and heavier sounds, this second phase resonates with a breath of hope.

The visual for GogeTa, drawn from this second part, perfectly embodies this evolution. When he began this diptych, Mahelene stated: “This is my therapy”. And indeed, this dual project, positioned somewhere between existentialism and surrealism, is fueled by the immediacy of his emotions. Like a wound that heals slowly, a scar that turns into a mark, the pain eventually fades under the pressure of life that goes on. Such is the fate of men.

Mahelene unveils the visual for GogeTa!

Musically, GogeTa stands out for its baroque character. Hard to confine to a single genre, the track blends elements of rap, visible in Mahelene‘s flow, with pop touches in its production. The theme explores romantic relationships with a touch of irony. Much like Brigitte or Christophe, the artist uses irony with finesse, never overindulging in it.

As for the music video, a true visual masterpiece, it is the work of Rémi Pujol. Marked by both love and a sense of disorientation, this “arty” and meticulously crafted video showcases the artist’s talent, who recently photographed Naomi Watts before the Balenciaga show. Every detail is carefully thought out, making this video a work of art in its own right.
