Leto goes all in with “Shai Alexander”!

Leto kicks off 2025 with full force, dropping his brand-new project “Life” — a dense, well-crafted record featuring Hamza, Kepler and TVSLYM. A former member of PSO Thug and one of the key figures of Porte de Saint-Ouen, the rapper continues to refine his artistry. Known for his trap-driven sound and American-influenced vibes, he expands his palette here, blending raw energy with more introspective melodies. With “Life”, Leto proves he can hit hard while still evolving his style.

The single “Shai Alexander” — a nod to NBA star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander — stands as a return to his roots. The track delivers everything fans expect: charisma, confidence, and the same intensity that fueled his early success. It’s a straight-up banger built to dominate the season.

The sharp, high-octane production brings together four heavyweights of the French beatmaking scene: Scvlra, Raed, SHK and Rayane Beats. The first two — Scvlra and Raed — long-time collaborators and signees of Winterfell, Leto’s own label, have helped shape his signature sound over the years. Rayane Beats, who often works within Freeze Corleone’s sonic orbit, adds a cold, surgical touch, while SHK — the Épinay-sur-Seine beatmaker behind “Molly” by Gazo — injects extra firepower. The result is an explosive, perfectly balanced production made for the darkest bangers.

Balancing technique and attitude, Leto drops razor-sharp punchlines like:

“Since you’re trash, you start on the bench”
“We’ll smoke you till there’s nothing but ashes left.”

With a biting flow, clean phrasing, and a hook that sticks, “Shai Alexander” checks every box of a masterfully executed street anthem.

The video, shot in Paris around Rue André-Antoine in the 18th arrondissement, strengthens the song’s visual identity. Dressed to impress, Leto moves through an urban landscape slowly overtaken by a mysterious green substance — a kind of organic slime — a direct reference to the cult horror film The Blob. The concept is bold, both visually striking and symbolic, illustrating the gradual takeover of his creative universe.

Behind the camera, Arthur Keasy delivers a finely tuned piece of direction. Known for his meticulous visuals, he’s the man behind standout clips like “Tu veux quoi?” by Landy (feat. Franglish), “La jeunesse dorée” by Guy2bezbar and Killa Predator, and “Money Maker” by Favé. Once again, he proves his flair for cinematic framing and strong visual storytelling.

Leto keeps solidifying his imprint — a mix of precision, aesthetics, and authenticity. With “Shai Alexander”, he signs one of his most powerful comebacks to date.
