Lamo – Vision opaque

LAMO continues his rise with “Vision Opaque”, a track that further sharpens the uniqueness of his artistic identity. At just 22, the artist is already carving out a clear direction: introspective music that sits at the crossroads of haunting melodies and raw emotion.

From the very first notes of “Vision Opaque”, much like in earlier releases such as “J’ai la haine” or “Ballas”, one thing becomes clear: LAMO operates in a hybrid space, blending rap with electronic influences. Produced by Paul Duquesnes, the track stands out for its dense sonic texture, built around immersive synths and layered electronic elements that amplify its dark atmosphere. While still relatively uncommon in French rap, this artistic direction echoes a lineage that runs from the Beastie Boys to “Electrocypher” by IAM, and even to Youssoupha’s dubstep experiment on “La vie est belle”.

Beyond the production, it is the writing that truly captures attention. Direct without ever being blunt, introspective without falling into cliché, it reflects a rare commitment to authenticity. LAMO doesn’t aim to smooth out his message or fit into a mold; instead, he lays out his thoughts, tensions, and ambitions with unapologetic honesty. His writing feels like an immediate extension of his mindset:

“Sous pilon, ma memory se dispatche
Ça fait kiffer d’voir ces bouffons qui stagnent
J’entends tous mes negros qui me disent ‘stacks’
J’arrêterai quand j’aurai vendu dix stades”

With this new release, LAMO proves he’s not just following trends—he’s building, track by track, a strong and cohesive identity. Still evolving, his trajectory already points toward an ambitious and lasting artistic vision within the rap landscape.
