Kaaris truly embodies the Goal Volant!

Kaaris released his project Day One in 2023, featuring Koba LaD, SCH, Hamza and Kerchak. The album got off to a solid start with just under 6,000 first-week sales, while 2.7.0 had debuted with nearly 17,000 units.

Since his early days with Or Noir and later Le Bruit de mon âme, Kaaris has moved between a raw, street-driven sound — the style that first put him on the map — and a more open, accessible approach. Today, many rappers lean toward melodic or mainstream-friendly tracks. Yet Kaaris, considered one of the first — if not “the very first” — to bring Trap and Drill to France, remains remarkably comfortable delivering hard, explicit street records.

With his track Goal Volant, the rapper returns to the core of his identity: cold, uncompromising street rap.

Kaaris truly embodies the Goal Volant!

The production is handled by 2K and Gancho. A former member of Double X, 2K had already worked with Kaaris back in the early years. Recently, he has collaborated frequently with SCH, just like Gancho, now one of the go-to producers within the Marseille rap scene. The beat, minimalist and dark, sets a heavy tension that perfectly matches the rapper’s writing.

On this track, Kaaris delivers a sharp egotrip, recounting an unfiltered street experience:

“J’sors d’la cage d’escalier (S-E) / Pied au plancher, ma pétasse est penchée, que de larmes et de sang, ma soif doit étancher (S-E)”

and also:

“Tu crois qu’on est cuits, c’est ta grand-mère qu’on pine, pour arracher ta vie, pas b’soin d’faire une tontine”

The music video, directed by Alan Benoit, follows Kaaris through a full day: traveling to Portugal, hitting the gym, recording in the studio and attending a VIP event. A routine he portrays as unchanged, almost frozen in time since the early years. Alan Benoit had previously directed “Danger #3” by rapper 3arbi.
