HolyBrune Reveals the Spirit of “High Hopes” Through “Visions”

HolyBrune, an artist from Paris, has been carving out a distinctive lane for several years at the crossroads of pop, R&B, and electronic textures, with subtle yet confident touches of funk woven into her sound. Long rooted in indie circles, she patiently refined her artistic identity before reaching a decisive milestone on February 27 with the release of her debut project. Titled “High Hopes”, the album nods to the iconic track by Pink Floyd, serving as a quiet statement of artistic ambition — both intimate and universal.

Appearing on France Inter on the show hosted by Mehdi Maïzi, the singer was reminded of the anticipation surrounding her first album. True to her approach, however, she embraces her own pace: “she takes her time.” Time to grow, to define herself, and to articulate a clear vision. Today, HolyBrune stands out as an iconoclastic artist, seamlessly blending genres with elegance while embodying a refined and emotionally resonant modernity. The track “Visions” opens this new chapter, acting as a gateway into her universe.

The production is handled by Fred Dupont, a long-time collaborator of HolyBrune, previously involved in tracks such as “Fair Game” and “Do Me a Favor.” Here, the composition unfolds in an almost cosmic dimension: a finely balanced electro-funk foundation, delicate retro synth layers, and a subtle vocal sample reminiscent of Daft Punk’s aesthetic on “Homework.” The result is an immersive, sensual atmosphere carried by an energy that feels both luminous and introspective.

“Let me take you out / be my guiding light / my precious little star”

The video, shot at Le Bourget and directed by Eva Wang, extends this visual ambition. Blending futuristic aesthetics with space-inspired imagery, the singer moves through a cosmic setting that amplifies the song’s dreamlike quality. Eva Wang, who previously directed “Invincible” by Wejdene, has also collaborated with Steve Ibrahim, signed to Panenka Music, reinforcing a cohesive and ambitious artistic direction.
