In 2023, GLK launched an ambitious musical triptych with the release of Veni. Drawing directly from the Roman legions’ motto Veni, Vidi, Vici, the EP laid the foundations for a narrative conceived in three acts. One year later, in 2024, the rapper from the 93 district continued the journey with Vidi, featuring appearances from Ashe 22 and Mougli. The artist has since confirmed the arrival of Vici and, to mark this next step, unveils the second installment of his track “Murder”, this time joined by Kaaris, Niaks and Batbat.
On set during the video shoot, media outlet Midi/Minuit was able to meet the rappers and capture the project’s raw energy. As GLK had previously stated, the production of “Murder #2” called for heavy hitters. With Kaaris and Niaks on board, the brief is met without question. Batbat, meanwhile, emerges as the breakout presence of this new chapter of Murder. On “Murder #1”, that role was filled by Python Loco.
GLK brings Niaks, Kaaris and Batbat together on “Murder #2”!
The track’s instrumental backbone is handled by OFZECROSS, Nisya and Neits. Already behind “Murder #1”, OFZECROSS has previously worked with Landy on Charger and with RK on I Miss U. For his part, Neits notably produced 8426city by ISK as well as N’aie pas peur. The result leaves no room for compromise: a harsh, gritty record built for the streets. As Niaks summed it up in an interview: “GLK wanted a street record.” Mission accomplished—the balance between raw egotrip and sharp lyricism hits its mark.
GLK sets the tone from the outset: “No friendly settlements, I send rusted blades your way.” Niaks follows up with cutting precision: “There are men of honor, and there are informers / I don’t know mine, but I know your time’s coming.” Batbat keeps the pressure on with lines just as sharp: “Your guys are beaten— even to hide, they don’t have a place.” Veteran Kaaris closes the track with authority: “Even six feet under, bitch, we’re still not even (Gang).”
Shot inside a warehouse, the visual mirrors this sonic onslaught, giving the rappers free rein in a raw, unapologetically ghetto atmosphere. The video remains unsigned.
