Franglish sets the mood with Candy!

Franglish is entering a new chapter in his career with the release of his latest mixtape, AURA x G-WAVE. Back in 2025, his previous album Prime had already earned gold certification. This new release confirms his continued rise, with 11,409 units sold in its first week alone. Clearly, the artist has found his stride in the French rap landscape.

A self-proclaimed “vibe setter with heart,” Franglish has carved out a unique lane, blending styles in a way that mirrors the evolution of the Parisian rap scene. In a 2025 interview with NRJ Belgique, he opened up about his creative process — a spontaneous fusion of Afro, R’n’B, and soul influences. As he puts it: “It’s inspiration that speaks.” This isn’t some calculated marketing move — it’s an artist letting the moment guide the music.

His latest track, Candy, is a heartfelt, sun-drenched anthem dedicated to his audience, taken straight from AURA x G-WAVE. Smooth, sweet, and rhythmically rich, the song has already won over listeners across the board.

The production is handled by Shuriken Music, a trio of beatmakers made up of Guishkow, Lewis, and YaPas2. Known for crafting hits like Fleurs by Gazo and Gasolina by Tiakola, the collective continues to leave its mark. They’ve also collaborated with Liim’s on Scintiller, and more recently teamed up with Niska and Ninho on the track Collabo.

Candy thrives on an “uplifting” and “danceable” vibe, with a catchy melody and vibrant delivery. Franglish tells a vivid, emotional story through the lyrics:

“She pulled up, too late now, she fell in my arms, I don’t even know her name (Let’s go)
She’s mad, but she’ll come back (Yeah, let’s go)
Baby knows it ain’t better over there (She knows)”

The music video captures raw energy, shot live during a concert and backstage. Franglish invited his fans to be part of the process, incorporating footage they sent in — adding a personal and emotional layer to the visuals. The video was co-directed by Franglish himself and Joss Stinson, founder of Lutèce Music, the label that has supported Franglish since the beginning and continues to champion some of the most exciting talent in the French urban scene.
