2mezur and Seth Gueko: the impact of “Bianconeri”!

0

2mezur, an iconic rap group, has been a staple of the scene since the early 2000s. Back then, as teenagers, Cevi and Zeufa met during graffiti and freestyle sessions in the streets of Paris. Their first joint project, born from that creative period, unfortunately never saw the light of day due to contractual issues. However, the years have only strengthened their resolve. As an independent group, they gained solid experience, particularly through the #BLCSTAP project. In 2023, the two rappers met Oxydz at the Scred Boutique, marking the start of a promising collaboration with this talented beatmaker. Shortly after, following the release of the album “Héritage” in 2023, 2mezur made a strong comeback with “Bianconeri”, featuring prestigious collaborations with Seth Gueko, Ol Zico, and Brasco. 2mezur drop out the “Bianconeri” project the 20th september.

2mezur and Seth Gueko: the impact of “Bianconeri”!

The group recently released the video for their collaboration with Seth Gueko on the album’s title track. It’s an instant classic. As always, Seth Gueko doesn’t do things halfway: a finely-tuned Boom Bap production and punchlines that hit hard.

The music composition is signed by Willy Banks, the mastermind behind the entirety of the “Bianconeri” album. Known for his collaborations with top-tier independent rap artists like Swift Guad and Green Money, he once again delivers a powerful and timeless production. His talent has been well established, particularly with the creation of the track “Trop d’histoires” on Rohff’s album Grand Monsieur. Here, 2mezur and Seth Gueko navigate the track brilliantly, wielding punchlines as sharp as blades.

Seth Gueko delivers lines that resonate strongly: “Even skinheads get hair transplants” or “We pass off semen as pastry cream”. The two rappers from the 94 region aren’t left behind, firing back with sharp punchlines like: “They say I do everything wrong, that I slant like italics”.

The video, directed by La Base Production, embraces a perfectly mastered casual chic style. Whether in suits or tracksuits, the transitions between the hood and upscale restaurants evoke the ambiance of grand mafia sagas like Toni Soprano. The cinematography, with its metallic gray tones and striking grain, adds a polished aesthetic. La Base Production, both a beatmaker and a director renowned in the independent rap scene, has worked with notable artists, including on the clip for Benjunior’s “Coup de fil”.
