Bag Jeune B Returns with Summer Anthem “Mala”

Bag Jeune B is part of the new wave of artists emerging from Morning Glory, the label founded by Bellek and distributed by Believe All Points. Best known for producing hits for artists such as Favé and ZKR, Bellek has spent the past several years building a roster of promising newcomers rather than signing already established names. Alongside Bag Jeune B, Yoko, Zé and Decimo, Bellek explained in a 2021 interview with Billboard that his ambition was to develop artists over the long term. Two years later, during an interview with The Chairman, he revealed that many of his signees see him as a “big brother”. Rather than acting as a mentor, he encourages them to make the most of the opportunities music can provide—an industry that opens “many doors”, both positive and dangerous. That philosophy has become a defining part of Morning Glory‘s identity.

Bag Jeune B introduced his artistic vision in 2025 with the release of his debut EP Brique par Brique. Released without any guest appearances, the project allowed him to fully showcase his musical identity, blending melodic trap, infectious hooks and an effortlessly laid-back delivery. Since then, the rapper has continued to build momentum with a string of singles, including Ben Wallace, Bla Bla and, most recently, Mala. With its sunny atmosphere and summer-ready production, the latter further highlights his ability to broaden his sound while staying true to his artistic identity.

The track is produced by Exi, according to the official Spotify credits. The producer has previously worked on tracks such as Jolie by Gaulois, M.A.L.A by Gazo and Enfants Terribles by Landy. On Mala, Exi delivers a slow, hypnotic instrumental that subtly borrows from reggae-inspired textures while remaining firmly rooted in modern trap. Floating over this atmospheric production, Bag Jeune B effortlessly switches between references to a “bad romance”, confident braggadocio and his trademark laid-back delivery:

The music video was directed by Nextlab, placing Bag Jeune B in a luxurious setting of contemporary villas, swimming pools and sun-drenched landscapes. The elegant visual perfectly complements the track’s relaxed summer vibe. Nextlab is already familiar with the Morning Glory universe, having previously directed the video for François Pizzaré by Decimo as well as Comment by Kerchak, cementing his role as one of the label’s recurring creative collaborators.
