After unveiling his album “Elowi,” Yamê presented the single “Bécane” on Colors. Following his appearance on the Colors Show, Yamê ascended to the Top 50 on Spotify, earning the certification of gold single. It’s a true consecration for this artist with an original style.
Yamê in Douala on his “Bécane”!
After achieving his gold single, Yamê takes off to Douala, marking a genuine return to his roots in Cameroon behind the wheel of his Cameroonian Benskins. A quartet of beatmakers crafted this instrumental production, featuring Yamê himself, Pandrezz (who previously collaborated with him on the track “Ayo Mba”), KronoMuzik, and Ekeptaze. A few piano notes accompany an almost entirely acoustic instrumental production. Yamê delivers his verses between the choruses, and his flow is elusive and distinctive. Undoubtedly, it’s this uniqueness that earns him credibility with listeners. The music video has garnered nearly 300,000 views.
In the visual, Mateo Da Silva captures the artist and his friends in Douala with their Benskins. Benskins have been a true tradition in Cameroon since the 80s when an entrepreneur imported motorcycles to bring them back to the country. In the video, Yamê arrives in Douala with a biker army. Mateo Da Silva is also the director of “Room 69” by Tayc.
