Tūta is an artist from Nantes, specifically the Port-Boyer neighborhood. A few months ago, he unveiled his ambitious project “Solitaire”. Through this album, he delves into the deep reasons that led him to embark on his rap journey, using carefully crafted visuals to narrate his story. This subtle and well-executed storytelling aligns perfectly with current trends, where artists like SCH, Moubarak, and others use immersive visuals to enrich their musical narratives. During his travels, Tūta met Dutch producer Bandoo Beats. Together, they embarked on a collaborative journey, creating a full project recorded between Nantes, the All Gangs studio, and Bandoo Beats’ studio in the Netherlands. Tūta now ventures “Ailleurs”!
In this introductory track to the project, the artist relies on an instrumental production by Bandoo Beats, known for composing the track “9B #2” by Kerchak. This energetic electro track perfectly complements the sharp and versatile flow of Tūta, who skillfully alternates between rapping and singing to match the rhythm. True to his authenticity, the rapper avoids creating a fictitious persona. Instead, he narrates his life experiences with sincerity, steering clear of exaggerated or overly macho storytelling. Between moments of despair and glimpses of joy, he offers an honest portrait of his life as an artist. The project “Solitaire” already reflected this introspective approach, and “Ailleurs” reaffirms his commitment to genuine and heartfelt music. In a musical landscape often dominated by fiction, this transparency is refreshing.
The visual for “Ailleurs” is directed by Flogo, who follows the rapper through the breathtaking landscapes of Brittany, blending picturesque villages and the majestic western coastline. This setting highlights the honesty of an artist who remains true to himself, untainted by the pitfalls of the music industry. Flogo is also behind the visuals for RBK (“Libre”) and Green Nagasaki (“Second Chapter”).
