A few days ago, the project “Chorme” hit the shelves, bringing together several notable names from the French rap scene, including Hash24, Shootas, and Seth Gueko. The music video for the track performed by Professeur Punchline has just been released. With “Woody Woodpecker”, the Barlou delivers a sharp, well-crafted track rooted in a classic Boom Bap aesthetic—raw yet refined.
Seth Gueko drops the video for “Woody Woodpecker”!
The beat is produced by Mhesah Prod, a seasoned producer known for his work with PLK on tracks like “À la base” and “3 en 1”, as well as with ZKR on “Freestyle 5 min #12”. He also contributed several beats for Jul, including “Postiché” and “Faux Poto”. This time, he delivers a piano-driven instrumental that’s decidedly classic, offering Seth Gueko the perfect canvas for a lyrical masterclass.
The artist fires off his punchlines like loaded statements:
“Hell is on Earth / No one’s grabbing the extinguishers / We can’t just watch from the sidelines / He’s deforesting the equator / Evicting and abusing the squatters / It’s the dark plan of his exploiters.”
Bold, dark, and impactful, the track comes with a video that packs a visual punch. Directed by Wissiz, the clip takes place in a dim, eerie room, using stark visuals to amplify the track’s themes. Wissiz had already made an impression with the direction of “Le Marginal” for Seth Gueko.
