Kerchak makes his return with 34, a new project that brings together a strong lineup of high-profile collaborations, from Naza and L2B to Himra, Jolagreen23 and ElGrandeToto. The momentum was evident from the very first week, with close to 4,000 copies sold. A solid opening that follows in the footsteps of his previous album Saison 2, which was certified gold.
To usher in this new chapter, the rapper unveils the video for Anniversaire, a standout track from the project in which he opens up with rare sincerity, exploring more personal and introspective thoughts.
Kerchak wants nothing for his Anniversary !
The project’s production is handled by a quartet of producers made up of
Hydro4K, Artro, Donnelli and GRKS. Already known for his work with Ninho on the track Nwar, Hydro4K is joined here by Donnelli and Artro. A Belgian producer with an international trajectory, Donnelli has also made his mark through the production of Seinen for Ziak.
Firmly rooted in rap, Anniversaire nevertheless leans on a subtle melody that enhances the track’s emotional weight. In this storytelling-driven song,
Kerchak reflects on his journey, his family and his inner doubts, delivering lyrics shaped by a clear sense of self-awareness:
“I don’t want to die, but I still hope for heaven
I don’t want to jump if I don’t have a parachute
I value control and security
So we play the guitar, not the flute”
Or again:
“The first book I ever opened was the Bible
The last one I closed was the Quran”
The video is directed by Hypnoz. True to Kerchak’s universe, the visual language moves between surrealism and narrative, driven by striking transitions and a distinctive sense of staging. Conceived as an intimate glimpse into the artist’s inner world, the storytelling here ultimately takes precedence over abstraction.
Hypnoz has previously collaborated with
Pit Baccardi and Jey Brownie on Me & My Girlfriend, as well as with Niro and Potter Payper on Pourquoi tu m’aimes ?, not to mention Nej’ and Keblack on La Var.
