Gutti – Scam

0

Gutti, a talented artist from Brussels, continues to impress in the rap scene with his latest release, “Scam,” a part of his series of freestyles with Souu 5. Known for his punchy lyrics and catchy gimmicks, Gutti brings a unique blend of energy to this track, featuring a Jersey-New York style beat with engaging rhythms and deep 808 bass lines.

Gutti’s journey in the music industry began with Ceelo Squad, a collective he joined in 2015 with childhood friends from different neighborhoods in Brussels (Molenbeek, Anderlecht, Evere). He officially embarked on his solo career on July 10, 2019, with the release of his debut single “Juju,” which has since accumulated over 100,000 listens on Spotify. This success, bolstered by a share from the artist Niska, led to Gutti’s first stage experiences, including opening for Koba LaD at the Bloody Louis in Brussels.

Influenced by U.S. artists like Migos, DaBaby, 21 Savage, and Chief Keef, Gutti quickly established himself as a significant figure in the music scene. His first EP, “New State 1,” released in 2021, featured French rapper Cinco and included the hit “Diego Armando,” which garnered over 600,000 listens on Spotify.

Following his first signing with Virgin France, Gutti released his second EP, “New State 2,” in October 2023. This project featured collaborations with artists like Frenetik and Romeo Elvis, solidifying his place as a key player in the new generation of Belgian rappers.

Gutti’s musical influences don’t stop at rap and R&B; he also draws inspiration from Congolese rumba, a nod to his diverse musical background. As the eldest in a large family, he brings a unique blend of cultures and experiences to his music. Known for his energetic performances, Gutti has graced stages at notable events like Couleur Café and the prestigious Festival de Dour, delivering explosive shows.

Nicknamed “the fourth member of Migos” by some, Gutti is celebrated not just for his bangers but also for his broad musical range, incorporating trap, drill, Jersey, and Afro influences. His upcoming releases, including an anticipated EP in early 2024, promise to further showcase his undeniable talent and versatility.

His latest single, “Scam,” demonstrates this talent vividly. Released a year after his “New State 2” project, the single features an impressive flow over a Jersey instrumental, accompanied by a video directed by Tādeskwa. Gutti’s ability to blend styles and genres, along with his engaging stage presence, positions him as a dynamic and influential figure in the evolving landscape of rap music.
