AM La Scampia: A Lasting Love for Naples

0

AM La Scampia unveils his ambitious project, “La Scamp”, set for release in February 2024. With a bold, solo approach, the rapper has announced that the project will have no collaborations, allowing him to fully express himself through his own words and sounds. He has just dropped a powerful new single, titled “Napolitana”, a choice that’s far from random. AM La Scampia has a deep connection with the city of Naples. In 2023, while releasing his track “Triste fête”, he told SCRED magazine: “Actually, I came to know Naples by chance, through acquaintances who brought me there. I discovered the city, its culture, its similarities to Marseille in character, and the shared passion for soccer. There’s also a love for music, especially Neomelodico songs, which resonated with me deeply. I’m a huge fan of late ’80s British pop and Lucio Battisti’s ’70s Italian sounds. Back then, my love for soccer was really a hooligan’s love.”

The production of “Napolitana” is credited to a talented team, including AchProdd, La Scampia, and Whyusoicy, all listed as composers on digital platforms. AchProdd, an established beatmaker, has previously collaborated with Niaks on tracks like “La Chienneté” and “Manolo”. Together, they’ve crafted a production that’s both mellow and hypnotic, providing an ideal musical setting for AM La Scampia‘s expression.

The rapper effortlessly claims every note, blending his Marseille influences with an authentic passion for Naples. This track, both light and tinged with melancholy, shines as a brilliant return for an artist with a unique path, affirming that AM La Scampia is back, more inspired than ever.
