Zamdane beneath his “last rain”

Zamdane unveils the first glimpse of his upcoming third album. Based in Marseille for many years, the rapper began his artistic journey with freestyles “Affamé”. Always in pursuit of his muse—his “Padmé”—he released the album “Solsad” in 2024. In a rare interview with Raplume, where he opened up about his love for music, he stated: “I’ll always make music. Maybe when I’m 35, I’ll be making Raï or producing, but I’ll still be making music.” A true passion drives Zamdane, a modern-day poet whose every song is a carefully crafted concept, far from the formulas of the mainstream. “Solsad” was officially certified just a few months after its 2024 release.

The artist now presents “Dernière pluie”, a brand-new excerpt from his forthcoming project!

The composition of this track is the result of a collaboration between Thug Dance and Jeremy Patry. A native of southern France, Thug Dance is behind iconic tracks like “Les raisons de la colère” by IAM, and has previously worked with Zamdane on tracks such as “Boyka” and “Affamé #8”. Jeremy Patry contributed production on the song “Printemps”. The track opens with a majestic classical sample that gently transitions into expressive piano notes. This atmospheric backdrop allows Zamdane to fully unleash the strength of his words, giving lyrical writing center stage.

The artist delves into his inner demons with poetic flair:

“Every second spent in my head, I speak with the monster hiding there
The world looks dark from my window, scarred like the faces of my crew”

He also reflects on his success and unwavering authenticity:

“Tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, but my soul remains untouched”

The black-and-white music video, directed by Guillaume Lebel, shows Zamdane surrounded by his close circle in an intimate and stripped-down setting. Though not rooted in the rap scene, Guillaume Lebel also directed the visuals for “Fongibles”, a recent brand campaign.
