Yoko is steadily establishing himself as one of the rising faces of his generation, first gaining attention through his “Sativa” freestyle series. This early buzz quickly led him to sign with DJ Bellek’s label, Morning Glory, under license with Believe. Staying true to the label’s blueprint, he kicked off his journey with a “Freestyle Signature” recorded in-house, before dropping a string of singles—following the same path as fellow signees such as Bag Jeune B, Favé, Décimo, and , who also hails from the same neighborhood.

Keeping that momentum alive, the Sarcelles-born rapper returns with the fourth installment of his “Sativa” series, delivered in an electric atmosphere surrounded by his close circle back in the neighborhood. Yoko embodies a raw and authentic youth, driven by lyric-focused rap that captures the realities and day-to-day experiences of his generation with striking accuracy.

“Sativa”, a reference to a cannabis strain, becomes a true artistic thread throughout the series. The track’s production is handled by DJ Bellek, alongside Slembeatz and Skyz On Da Track. Regular collaborators, Bellek and Slembeatz recently produced “Kenan & Kel” by Décimo featuring Guy2Bezbar, as well as “Zone Euro” and “Le Dem” by Nessbeal. Meanwhile, Skyz On Da Track frequently collaborates with ZKR, another key artist from the label. Driven by a haunting siren loop, the production creates the perfect backdrop for Yoko’s explosive lyrical delivery.

“I’ve got my mother’s guts, not my father’s”
“No matter how much I try to wash, my soap stays dirty”
“Bring your father too, we’ll see if I negotiate my price”

The visual, shot in the neighborhood and surrounded by his people, is directed by Kespey. After working for a long time with Le Clown, the rapper now turns to this rising director, especially since the release of the “J’arrête pas” video. A natural move, as Kespey is currently gaining strong momentum within the label and beyond, with recent collaborations including Bouss on “Nowhere 2”, on “Conséquences” and “Chardonnay”, as well as Jul on “Tu t’en es où”.
