When Demi Portion says “Merci” to his audience!

When Demi Portion released the album “Dragon Rash” 10 years ago, he achieved the remarkable feat of surpassing major label artists in sales for several days. In this project, and especially in the track “Le Dernier Chevalier”, he reminds us that at just 16 years old, he had already “refused the record labels”. Staying true to the original values of the Hip Hop movement, with lyrics that are always deeply committed, the rapper from Sète has never hesitated to speak his mind. His series dedicated to the “Dico”, with its latest episode “Dico Royal” drawn from his latest album “Poids Plume”, is a perfect illustration of this.

Demi Portion’s time has come!

Rachid has also recently wrapped up the second edition of the “Demi Festival”, which was sponsored by the iconic Oxmo Puccino. This time, the French press gave him a well-deserved tribute. Le Monde, Libération, and others, representing the remaining intellectual voices in the French media landscape, supported this event centered around this iconoclastic “Poids Plume”, possibly ahead of its time. In the 90s, Demi Portion would have undoubtedly been one of the French rappers most faithful to the spirit of Hip Hop, and one of the most talented, with his sharp wordplay. Today, he is one of the last true heirs of this culture in an era where many have betrayed its legacy. The rapper is a pioneer, even though he was born after the golden age.

He has just released the visual for the track “Merci”, a perfect way to close the “Demi Festival”!

When Demi Portion says “Merci” to his audience!

Forget the testosterone-fueled, egotrip-filled rap; Demi Portion chooses to stand out. In a world dominated by machismo and ego, he opted for a name that speaks volumes. Most of his tracks reflect this idea of being “half a portion.” The instrumental production for this track was crafted by Dj Rolxx, a beatmaker who has already left his mark on several tracks from the album “Poids Plume”, including “Bonjour”, “Horizon”, and “16 Mesures”.

In this track, the rapper reminds his audience, who has supported him from the beginning, that he would be nothing without them. The video, directed by jf.alonzo and leo.alestro during the Demi Festival, perfectly captures the electrifying energy of the event.
