Theodora has established herself as a trailblazer in the French music scene. With her track Kongolese sous BBL, she achieved a historic milestone by earning the first gold certification for a bouyon track in France—a genre traditionally rooted in the Caribbean. She returns with her latest single, Pay!, collaborating with Guy2Bezbar. This rapper from northern Paris experienced a meteoric rise last year after dramatically shifting his musical style. Initially known for his drill beginnings and a joint album with Leto, he reached new heights with Monaco, a track that achieved diamond certification, propelling him into a new realm of success.

The instrumental production of this track is credited to Junior Alaprod, Jeez Suave, and Zafy. Jeez Suave, Theodora’s brother, has been by her side since her early days, notably contributing to tracks like Kongolese sous BBL and Boss Lady. In an interview with Konbini, Theodora describes their relationship:

“Most of the time, what’s certain is that we always end up having a shared reflection on things we didn’t necessarily do together, and I think that’s even more important. It means that even when we’re not together, in the end, the thought process—whether musical or otherwise—keeps going. In fact, since he’s my brother, it’s even easier to think things through. We see each other at home and talk about it again a week later. We started together, and the fact that there are two of us, I think for both of us, it was also a reassurance.”

Junior Alaprod is a renowned beatmaker who has been active for several years. He notably composed the tracks Thibaut Courtois for Shay and Dix Leurres for Damso. The composition of Pay! is both catchy and powerful, featuring afrobeat influences.

The two artists portray a relationship between a bad boy and a bad & boujee woman, illustrated by these lyrics:

“But me, I love the one who pulls out the cash, who pulls out everything-everything-everything-everything-everything
His heart goes tou-rou, tou-rou, tou-tou
I shoot like tou-rou, tou-rou, tou-tou
My heels are Loubous, they click on the floor, like tou-rou, tou-rou, tou-tou”

The music video, shot in a festive atmosphere, is directed by Yanis Challab, who has previously directed videos for Toute la Noché by Alonzo and Gazo, as well as Vie de rêve by Naza and Imen ES.
