The French rap scene enthusiastically welcomes the emerging talent iAMA, also known as iAMAMOTO. At the age of 26, iAMA has traced his journey from his roots in Nandy, France (77), and the 19th arrondissement of Paris, to eventually settle in Bagneux (92). His artistic journey began in 2011 when he took his first steps into the rap scene, participating in concerts, open mics, and releasing a series of impactful music videos within his collective “CDE” (Clan d’élite).
However, it was in 2019 that iAMA took flight in the French rap landscape as a solo artist. This period was marked by a series of freestyles that marked the official start of his independent label, “Takoulou Music.” Then, in 2021, iAMA achieved a significant milestone with the release of his first entirely independent project, a 7-track EP titled “Illégalement.” This project stood out with the release of four carefully crafted music videos throughout the year.
The beginning of 2022 saw iAMA’s return with a captivating new series of freestyles titled “La Vie Du Bainx.” His growing influence was also noticed through his participation in various projects, such as those of shiifr and rafal on “JUKAI tome I.” Rafal is signed to Vald’s Echelon Records label.
Recently, iAMA created a buzz on social media by announcing the imminent release of a brand-new project titled “Mauvais Temps.” To provide a glimpse into this evolving universe, iAMA unveiled the project’s first excerpt, “Pour du papier.”
He has just unveiled the second excerpt from the project with “C’est l’heure.” The instrumental production for this track was composed by Certibeats. It’s a ballad with some guitar arpeggios and a lively bassline. In this somewhat melancholic yet rhythmically driven piece with basslines reminiscent of Baile Funk, the artist skillfully wields the French language.
There is a lot of talent behind this rapper. The video, directed by Bastien Fack, accompanies the rapper in the neighborhood. iAMA has just revealed a new dimension of his repertoire!
