Rounhaa and Kalash Criminel Deliver the Dark and Powerful “Cram”

Rounhaa, the French-Swiss rapper based in Geneva, is steadily establishing himself as one of the most distinctive voices in both the new wave of Swiss hip-hop and the wider French-speaking New Wave scene. Following the release of his 2026 album “Salaam”, the artist continues his rise with a brand-new collaboration alongside Kalash Criminel. While unexpected on paper, the pairing makes perfect sense, as both artists share a passion for dark atmospheres, introspective songwriting and a style of rap that refuses to chase mainstream trends.

Despite his reputation for raw, uncompromising “ferocity”, Kalash Criminel has always stood out for his strong political and social awareness. Born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, he continues to use his music as a platform to speak for his homeland. He recently reaffirmed that commitment by taking part in “Free Congo”, a collaborative track spearheaded by Gradur and featuring Damso, Ninho, Josman and Youssoupha. The song was created to raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis in eastern Congo. At the same time, anticipation for Kalash Criminel’s next solo project continues to grow.

Far removed from carefree summer anthems, luxury-filled music videos and songs designed to soundtrack beach holidays, Rounhaa and Kalash Criminel take listeners back to the realities of life in working-class neighborhoods. While some artists would rather “party all summer long,” as Booba puts it in “KYLL”, the two rappers choose instead to explore the streets, their scars, their contradictions and the lives shaped by them. The production is handled by Gizmo, better known as Gizmo7K. A key architect of Rounhaa‘s signature sound, the producer has previously worked on tracks such as “Le frère de Moïse”, “Yasmeen” and “Mood” from the project “Jaafar”. This time, he crafts a haunting, minimalist instrumental built around dark textures and restrained percussion, giving both rappers the perfect canvas to paint vivid portraits of street life.

Rounhaa opens the song with introspective verses filled with vulnerability, disillusionment and quiet despair:

“Gros je me mets jamais au vert / Je suis perdu dans cette vie / La seule guerre que Dieu m’a offerte.”

Kalash Criminel, staying true to his trademark style, answers with the razor-sharp confidence that has become his signature:

“Quand ça chauffe je suis comme un lion avec une crinière / On t’a dit Crimi te cherche / T’as repris la prière.”

The music video, directed by Iamomss, was filmed in Rounhaa‘s neighborhood. Rather than embracing the glossy aesthetics of summer videos filled with sunshine and exotic locations, the director opts for a raw, stripped-back urban approach that perfectly matches the song’s heavy atmosphere. The documentary-style visuals reinforce the realism of the record, allowing the artists’ performances to take center stage. A frequent collaborator of 63Kluf, Iamomss also directed “Kichta Walk” for Sosa Le M, further cementing his reputation for authentic, performance-driven visuals.
