On July 19th, Remy released his project “Après la pluie”, an album with no features. The artist is originally from Aubervilliers. At the beginning of his career, Mac Tyer took him under his wing. The general public discovered Remy through his freestyles on the Planète Rap shows of Sadek and Kaaris.
He reprises the famous “Reminem” over the instrumental production of “Mockingbird”, which at the time had not yet seen its big “revival”. With his early projects “C’est Remy” and “Remy d’Auber”, the artist represented a lyrical rap style with a kicked flow. Some might call it old-school rap. Much more open in his recent projects, he returns with “Après la pluie”, accompanied by the visuals for “Galérer”!
Remy is no longer just “Galérer”!
The instrumental composition of the track is by Geo On The Tracks. The beatmaker from Strasbourg has collaborated extensively with SCH since his early days. He is notably behind the tracks “Mafia”, “Interlude”, and “Offshore”, as well as the latest visual released by le S, “Les hommes aux yeux noirs”. The production is engaging and swept by a beautiful melody. Remy lets his pen flourish here.
Indeed, while the rapper from the 93 has adapted to contemporary practices, he has retained his lyrical prowess, delivering some rather biting punchlines such as “Le monde est à nous bah pourquoi il y a la douane” and “Même en étant blanc je connais le délit de faciès”. In the track, Remy narrates his struggles.
The visual, directed by Kamehameha, who has notably worked with PNL, contrasts starkly with the lyrics. We see a happy Remy, under the sun, with his friends. With Remy, there’s always an idea of revenge on life.
