Niaks and Maes call on the ‘Ndrangheta!

New tracks have been added to the growing tracklist of Mandat de dépôt by Niaks, featuring notable collaborations, including one with Maes and another with ZKR. The artist continues his meteoric rise in the music world. He recently unveiled the video for ‘Ndrangheta, his track featuring the rapper from Sevran, Maes.

Niaks: an authentic and talented rapper!

The ‘Ndrangheta is one of the most powerful criminal organizations in Europe. Originating in the 19th century in Calabria, southern Italy, this mafia is notorious for its family-based structure, making it nearly impossible to infiltrate. In 2021, while launching his career with Commission rogatoire, the rapper Niaks shared his thoughts on “the streets”:

“We don’t glorify the streets, it’s common sense. I’ve paid the price, I’ve seen many others pay the price. You learn lessons from the streets, but nothing good ever comes out of it. As Kery James says, it’s either death or prison. There’s no pride in being in the streets or doing street business. Some do it out of necessity, and that’s understandable, but if you do it for glory, you’ve missed the point, and you’ll end up wasting your life for nothing.”

The titles of his albums are directly inspired by the different stages of judicial procedures, a theme that resonates with his own experiences. A versatile rapper, Niaks stands out for his skill with words, and his collaboration with Maes is no exception: it’s a track full of raw intensity.

The explosive production of this track is signed by Whyusoicy, a Spanish beatmaker who has built a strong reputation working with artists such as Soto Asa on Malai and BleS, as well as Yeray JR on Mientras Critican. The instrumental, both heavy and rhythmic, delivers a raw and captivating energy.

In this song, the two rappers vividly portray life in the streets. Maes declares: “I grew up with nothing, now I need everything, gotta have clients in front of the tower”, to which Niaks powerfully responds: “I’ll hang in the block until I’m old enough to go to Hajj / There’s nothing more dangerous than a guy who runs the block.”

The visuals, crafted by Hustler Game, a fast-rising production studio, perfectly complement the track. Recently, the Hustler Game team has made waves with projects such as Yezzir, the latest clip by Dosseh, and Darement by Niaks.
