Originally from Guadeloupe, more precisely from Le Lamentin, Malyk-Man grew up in an environment deeply rooted in music. Raised by parents who worked in radio, he was immersed from an early age in a sound-driven world that would go on to shape his artistic identity. While he began making music as early as 2010, it was around 2020 that he truly took a professional leap, notably through the creation of his own label, One Again Music.
A fully independent and multifaceted artist, Malyk-Man wears multiple hats as a composer, sound engineer, and songwriter. Like many self-taught artists, he oversees every aspect of his work, from initial conception to final artistic direction. On June 13, 2025, he released his EP One Again Music Vol. 1, a cohesive and personal project featuring Til-Wowo on the single Trop tôt. A few weeks later, the artist unveiled the visual for the EP’s opening track, titled Antidote.
Malyk-Man unveils Antidote!
The instrumental composition for the track is produced by Jake B, a beatmaker known for his work on J’avais bon for Ba2 as well as Ride or Die for Shiva. Built around a stripped-back piano sample, Antidote unfolds within a restrained yet emotional atmosphere, leaving ample space for the artist’s vocal delivery and lyrical intent.
Now based in Seine-et-Marne (77), Malyk-Man moves between two worlds: his Caribbean roots and the hip-hop culture that permeates the Île-de-France region. This dual influence naturally shapes his sound. Antidote stands as a clear embodiment of this fusion, where tradition, modernity, and personal experience intersect. Between a classically tinged production and Malyk-Man’s expressive vocals, a powerful artistic synthesis emerges—one that creates connection and emotion.
On this track, Malyk-Man chooses to perform in Creole, following the path of several overseas artists now based in mainland France. Far more than a simple marker of identity, this choice becomes a narrative tool, allowing the artist to share an intimate and cultural story rooted in his experiences, journey, and heritage.
The video, carefully scripted, was directed by Smyky Production. Well-regarded within the independent rap scene, the director has previously made a name for himself with striking visuals such as Vermine by Scorpea and LKRMF by the same artist.
