Syrius, a skilled artist in the urban pop scene, makes a powerful comeback with his latest track “Rose”. Originally from central France, he moved to Bordeaux in the 90s, quickly making a name for himself in battle circles. Over the years, he developed a distinctive style and artistic identity, leading him to co-found the collective “Témoin Oculaire” with two friends. In 2007, a major shift in his career took him to Switzerland, where he explored diverse musical influences such as reggae, soul, RnB, and more. This exposure led him to collaborate with notable artists, including Buddha Monk, a member of the iconic Brooklyn Zoo founded by his half-brother, Ol’ Dirty Bastard of the Wu-Tang Clan. This connection inspired the EP “Le Livre de la Jungle”.
Despite his success, Syrius mysteriously stepped away from the scene in 2013. In 2022, after nearly a decade of absence, he returned to the studio with DJ Moon. Encouraged by DJ Moon, he recorded his new project at La Conserverie studio with the support of Popeye, an iconic figure in French rap.
“Les 4 Saisons”: An EP Celebrating Emotion and Nature
In 2023, Syrius released his first EP, “Les 4 Saisons”, featuring seven tracks. Each song is named after a flower, symbolizing a specific emotion or sentiment inspired by the language of flowers, in a quest for love and peace. This project combines heartfelt, poignant lyrics with modern, captivating rhythms, delivering an experience that resonates deeply with listeners.
The track “Rose” from this EP was composed by Rjacks and Masta, two beatmakers from Vigneux-sur-Seine (91), who have previously collaborated with artists like Naps and Djadja & Dinaz, and who produced the hit “HRTBRK #2” by Kaza. With “Rose”, they deliver a smooth urban pop melody that allows Syrius‘s voice to shine effortlessly.
The visually captivating clip, directed by Talions.film, is a true cinematic short film, highlighting a strong artistic vision. This production company recently brought to life “Anomalie” by Heykel and “Nada Personnal” by 7Aka.
