Lartiste has always highlighted his deep connection to his Moroccan roots and his dream of returning to his village to create music. During the Mawazine festival in 2019, he paid a heartfelt tribute to his Amazigh heritage and encouraged Moroccan youth to pursue their ambitions on their own land. In a notable interview, he shared: “My dream is to create an album in Morocco”, reflecting his genuine desire to contribute artistically to his home country.
Lartiste unveils the track “Bouhali”!
After releasing several singles that skillfully blend Arabic and French lyrics with Bollywood-inspired visuals, “Bouhali” seamlessly continues in this direction. This track tells a modern tale filled with melancholy and is accompanied by a captivating music video.
The instrumental composition for this track was created by the producer duo Alik & Yako and the talented Claro Beats. Alik & Yako, known for their collaborations with Booba on tracks like “RST”, “31” (from the album “Ultra”), and “PRT”, also produced “Le temps” for SDM. Meanwhile, Claro Beats played a pivotal role in Kaza‘s success with tracks like “HRTBRK #3” and “HRTBRK #5”.
In “Bouhali”, the producers incorporate samples of Arabic instruments, including the Riq, a traditional percussion instrument adorned with small cymbals, to deliver an authentic and immersive dimension. Lartiste masterfully combines his Maghrebi and French influences, crafting a unique sonic alchemy.
In a melancholic tone, Lartiste expresses his romantic anguish with poignant sensitivity, alternating between Arabic and French:
“So this is love? It’s just a joke
Even you don’t love me, it’s a madness
Too many ashes in the ashtray”
The music video, much like his recent projects, tells a visually striking story steeped in Bollywood influences. Directed by Jawad Kassar, who previously elevated the track “Cléopâtre”, the visuals highlight refined aesthetics and an enchanting narrative.
On January 24th, Lartiste will release his new album, titled “Solidad”, a work that promises to blend tradition and modernity with brilliance.
