Lacrim Enters the “Colisée” with SDM!

The track “Corleone II” marks the beginning of the promotion for “Veni Vidi Vici”, the new album by Lacrim. With “Colisée”, the artist makes a grand comeback accompanied by SDM, the rising star of 92i.

Lacrim: 10 Years of Reign!

Ten years ago, after serving a prison sentence, the rapper from Chevilly-Larue celebrated his release by signing with Def Jam and earning a gold record in just 10 days. “My brother, freedom is sweet” (A.W.A – Lacrim). After a decade of dominating the rap game, the rapper from the 94 returns with a new project set to be released in a few days, despite having left France a long time ago.

While it was IAM and the Wu-Tang, as well as NTM and NAS, who initiated international collaborations in French rap, Lacrim is undoubtedly the French rapper most active abroad. The list of his international collaborations grows with each album release, culminating in his eponymous album “Lacrim”.

Lacrim Enters the “Colisée” with SDM!

“Veni, Vidi, Vici” is the motto of the Roman Empire. The literal translation of the phrase pronounced by Julius Caesar in 47 BC is “I came, I saw, I conquered”. The title “Colisée”, also known as Coliseum, refers to the Roman arena where gladiators fought.

In this track, the instrumental composition is signed by Chahid, a Dutch beatmaker. The Netherlands is a favorite retreat for the rapper. He has recently worked with Lacrim on the tracks “Corleone II”, “Fugazi”, and “John Gotti” featuring Baby Gang. The composition is minimalist, dark, and haunting, perfect for two rappers who have brought gangsta rap to its peak.

When Lacrim declares: “Always solid even in the hole, gladiator mentality at the Coliseum (At the Coliseum) / I’m serious when I do my job, I make millions, embellishments”, SDM responds echoing: “Boy, we squatted the concrete, we always promised ourselves we would reach the top”.

The video is both grand and majestic, blending sumptuous settings with a luxurious lifestyle. It is directed by EYA AYARI, a name we will certainly hear more about.
