Kerchak Expands His Sound on “Comment”, the Latest Visual from “TRUE FORM”

Kerchak has established himself as one of the standout names of France’s new rap generation. Hailing from Bois-Colombes, the rapper first gained attention under the name Zolal before permanently adopting the stage name Kerchak. Around that time, Booska-P met him outside his high school, offering one of the earliest portraits of the young artist. In the interview, Kerchak explains that he discovered rap through “Or Noir” by Kaaris, before drawing inspiration, like many artists of his generation, from PSO Thug and later XV Barbar. Defying many of the stereotypes often associated with rap, Kerchak also revealed that he was an outstanding student who even skipped a grade. A few years later, he has become one of the leading figures of the French Jersey Drill scene. Alongside Ziak, he is widely regarded as one of the few artists to have built a musical and visual identity that is instantly recognizable.

With the release of his mixtape “TRUE FORM” in May 2026, however, Kerchak proved that he has no intention of being confined to a single formula. Without abandoning the foundations of his signature sound, the Bois-Colombes rapper explores more atmospheric, melodic and spacious production. Rather than chasing mainstream trends, he focuses on expanding his artistic universe. That evolution is fully showcased on “Comment”, the latest single to receive a music video. More electronic than much of his previous work, the track still delivers the raw energy and intensity that have defined Kerchak’s music since day one.

The production is handled by Clideur, who had already contributed to “Love”, one of the most melodic and accessible tracks on “TRUE FORM”. The producer has also worked extensively with 63OG, notably on “Papier” and “Nous deux”. On “Comment”, Clideur delivers an electronic instrumental driven by hypnotic melodies and a hard-hitting rhythm that perfectly complements Kerchak’s style. Staying true to his trademark approach, the rapper fires off punchline after punchline with relentless intensity, never losing the explosive energy that has become his signature.

Directed by NextLab, the music video unfolds against a vast desert backdrop. Blending arid landscapes, mint tea and visual references to North African culture, the director creates an atmosphere that contrasts sharply with the urban imagery usually associated with Kerchak. The rapper even appears without his trademark balaclava in several scenes, reinforcing the more personal artistic direction introduced on “TRUE FORM”.
