Jul dives into a love story with “Un jour, je l’aurai”

On December 6th, Jul will unveil his brand-new project, “Inarrêtable”. With an impressive production rate of two studio albums per year, not to mention collaborative projects, the Marseille-based rapper has established himself as a cornerstone of the French music scene. Since 2019, he has been the best-selling artist in France across all genres. To accompany the release of this year-end album, Jul recently dropped a captivating single: “Un jour, je l’aurai”, a heartfelt ode to love. As the saying goes, “love stories often end badly”, but not always…

Jul dives into a love story with “Un jour, je l’aurai”

The music for this track was crafted by Skoozy, a talented beatmaker from Oran, Algeria, and a loyal collaborator of the Jul team. This prolific duo has already delivered memorable tracks such as “Sur la Costa del Sol”, “Ounanana”, and “Kusher Kush”. This latest composition fits perfectly into Jul’s signature style, often referred to as a “son à la Jul”. This musical genre, developed by the artist himself, has transcended borders, reaching audiences across Europe. In an interview with Mouloud Achour on the show Clique, Jul even shared that he had recognized his musical influence as far away as Sweden.

With this track, the rapper celebrates love in a bright and uplifting atmosphere. Jul once again demonstrates his mastery of musical styles, delivering here a love story set to “good mood” vibes. This track is perfect for warming hearts during a cold and frosty winter. Here’s an excerpt from the lyrics that perfectly captures the song’s spirit:

“Ta façon d’être avec moi, même si je fais des billets / J’pourrais jamais t’oublier même si demain c’est fini / Parce que tu m’as supporté même quand j’avais pas l’Lamborghini.”

In keeping with the grand tradition of French rap, this song touches on themes cherished by artists: critiquing “starfuckeuses” (Rohff) or expressing love for “Angela” (Hatik).

The music video, in which Jul does not appear directly, skillfully blends footage shot with a camera and insta stories. This innovative approach bridges the gap between fiction and reality, offering an immersive and modern narrative. The concept is reminiscent of the album-film by Moubarak, who explored episodic storytelling in his project “Épreuves”.

The video was directed by Zaka Lavista, a versatile artist who divides his talent between rapping and audiovisual production. A previous collaborator of Moubarak, he also contributed to 13’Organisé 2, working alongside Kespey on the videos for “Bande Organisée 2” and “Mental 13”.
