Jul asserts: “Tié fou”!

With remarkable productivity, Jul releases two albums a year, in addition to numerous “free” projects. He has just released his latest album “Mise à jour” and is promoting it with the video for “Tié fou”, steeped in authentic Marseilles slang. In “Mise à jour”, Jul collaborates with artists such as SDM, Morad, A-deal, Moubarak, Zbig, Houari, and Kamikaz.

Jul: A Phenomenal Musical Success

Since 2019, he has become the French rapper with the highest album sales in history, surpassing legends like IAM and MC Solaar. His popularity primarily stems from his unique style, known as “les sons à la Jul”—rhythmic and lively tracks. During his appearance on the show “La Clique”, Jul highlighted how his style has crossed borders, from Morad in Spain to Sweden. Staying true to his roots, he maintains a close connection with his audience and continues to shoot videos in his home neighborhood.

Jul has also mastered the art of storytelling with scripted videos, as seen in works like “Love de toi” and “Canette dans les mains”. The track “Tié Fou”, a quintessential “son à la Jul”, provides a vivid narrative of the vibrant youth of Marseille.

Jul asserts: “Tié fou”!

The soundtrack, crafted by Wallas and Yahia, embodies the essence of his musical style. They previously collaborated on the track “Grazie la zone” from the album “Cœur blanc”, and Wallas also worked on “Souviens-toi” by Zkr. This song is perfect for summer, ideal for lively evenings with its engaging rhythm.

In a characteristic egotrip, Jul states: “I bet on myself, not on marketing / I get the dough on Monday, there’s nothing left by Wednesday”, while throwing jabs at his detractors: “It’s normal people believe you, you tell whatever you want to everyone”.

The video, as dynamic as the lyrics, was directed by William Thomas. This versatile director has also produced major works such as “La Ligne” by Mig, “RR Phantom” by Timal, and the summer hit by Heuss l’Enfoiré and Werenoi.
