This Friday, July 12, saw the release of the EP titled “Hannibal Part 1” (in tribute to the famed Carthaginian general who challenged the Roman Empire centuries ago). The album features collaborations with Lesram, Kaars, Mola, and KLM. Last week, the rapper unveiled the music video for his track “Brav-M”, in collaboration with Mola and KLM. Today, he presents the moving title “Lure of Gain”. Despite his youth, ISK stands out as one of the few rappers of his generation who perfectly masters the art of rap and possesses an exceptional lyrical flair.
ISK Resists the “Lure of Gain”!
The melody of the track was composed by Baille Broliker, a beatmaker of Tunisian origin who has previously worked with Booba on the track “Zer” and with the group PNL on “Mira”. Carried by a piano sample, his production recalls the classic hits of the 2010s. ISK excels in rapping the verses and switches up with sung choruses.
As usual, the track is filled with poetic punchlines:
"Talks behind my back but never to my face / Even though we see each other all year round" "They don’t know about welfare checks or benefits / Yet they speak of hardships" "Can’t say I’m heartless / I have one for those I care about"
The video, striking in its simplicity, follows the rapper against a dark background in front of a camera, delivering his lines with ease. The visual direction is by Kespey, currently in high demand, having recently collaborated with Mortalla on “Horizon” and Bouss on “Coloré”.
