Gims and La Mano have a soft spot for “Parisiennes”!

In another life, over a decade ago, Gims took his first steps as a solo artist with “Subliminal”. At the time, he appeared at the press conference for “Urban Peace 2” at the Grand Rex. Moments later, he stepped outside to get some fresh air. No crowd swarming him, no chaos — he didn’t go unnoticed, but almost.

Today, after earning a diamond certification for every one of his releases and stacking equally certified singles, the frontman of Sexion d’Assaut has become a true icon of the French music scene. His fame has long since transcended the narrow confines of French rap, even though he continues to anchor his projects in that universe — as proven by the album “Le Fléau”. In 2024, he returned with “Le Nord se souvient”, a project reinforced by its deluxe edition, “Odyssée”.

Already certified double platinum, the EP has surpassed 400,000 units sold and is steadily heading toward a diamond plaque. Riding this momentum, the artist dropped a hypnotic new single: “Parisienne”, featuring La Mano 1.9, a duo known for their relentless string of collaborations.

The track is produced by Maximum Beats, who has gradually become one of Gims’ go-to beatmakers. Their shared catalog already includes heavy-hitters like “Ninao”, “Spider”, “Thémistocle”, “Piano” (featuring Werenoi), and also “Baby” and “Diana”. Here, “Parisienne” brings a high-energy, danceable sound that leans more “club” than pop, celebrating a Parisian woman who breaks all stereotypes.

“Ah, ah, don’t worry (don’t worry), yeah don’t worry (mmh, mmh)
You’re the most beautiful (the most beautiful), yeah, the prettiest in my phone (Ouh, unh, unh)
Artificial (artificial), but who’s pulling the strings? (the strings)
I feel like I’m on a leash…”

The song paints the picture of a bold, independent woman — far from the typical fairy tale archetype:

“Sometimes, like cash, you disappear (Oh)
That night, you left me speechless (Oh)”

And later:

“I want a Parisienne (Parisienne), Parisienne
The kind who crosses on green lights, who doesn’t care about the Eiffel Tower”

With its infectious hook and summer-ready energy, “Parisienne” is clearly destined to be a summer hit.
