El’Nour is steadily emerging as one of the most distinctive voices of Paris’ new generation. With his 2024 project “Le sourire des miens”, he lays the foundation for a cohesive artistic universe driven by introspective storytelling and deeply embodied writing. Breaking away from traditional rap codes—often centered around self-indulgence and ego-driven narratives—the artist carves out a personal path, delicately exploring themes of solitude and vulnerability. An approach that firmly places him within a new wave of French rap searching for meaning and authenticity.
In line with this vision, El’Nour now unveils the single “Beaux-Arts”, accompanied by a visual that stays true to his artistic identity, balancing minimalism with emotional depth.
EL’Nour never went to “Beaux-Arts”!
The track’s production is handled by Coffee and ELI, two producers whose aesthetic sensibilities align perfectly with the rapper’s universe. Coffee, aka Coffee237, is known for his affinity with conceptual projects and strong artistic direction. He has notably worked alongside 75ERA and 63OG on “Elle aimerait”, as well as on “Sunshine” by ThaHomey, highlighting his involvement in the French new wave. Meanwhile, ELI is credited on Genius for the track “Pas de chance” by Chanje.
The song is built on a melodic and immersive production, blending organ and guitar textures to create an atmosphere that is both dark and airy. Within this sonic landscape, EL’Nour delivers a deeply felt, almost introspective performance, expressing emotions tied to departure, while hinting at a strong desire for renewal.
“I realize we chose an unbalanced path / I’d give everything for my people, and I believe every soul should break free / May God forgive me, oh may God forgive me”.
Directed by Steven Norel, the visual extends this introspective approach by portraying El’Nour in his everyday life, as if observing himself from a distance. A subtle mise en abyme crafted by a director already recognized for “Boscolo Exedra”, the visual for Luidji—a close collaborator of El’Nour—as well as “Snitch” by Dinos and “Performante”. A coherent visual signature that reinforces an artistic universe in full evolution.
