Dosseh is the new “Victor Newman”!

After three years of relative silence since the project “Trop tôt pour mourir”, Dosseh returns with the first installment of his new musical cycle, “Dieu donne, moi j’utilise”. For this opening chapter, the rapper from Orléans surrounds himself with Steban, Zequin, and Prince Waly, once again confirming his taste for carefully selected collaborations.

Pit Baccardi’s brother also made headlines by delivering two features on his elder sibling’s comeback tracks, “GOAT” and “Chiffres Romains.”

While appearing on the show Rap City, Dosseh shared his perspective on how rap projects are currently perceived. At a time when artists are often placed into predefined categories, the rapper insists that every creator develops a unique universe. In his view, listening to an album means entering the artist’s world, where not every track is meant to follow the same sonic direction.

When “Trop tôt pour mourir” was released, Dosseh reached nearly 10,000 sales in its first week. Despite the gap between projects, the artist has managed to maintain strong momentum with the first part of this new EP. The second installment is already scheduled for release on March 27.

In the meantime, he unveils the track “Victor Newman”, a reference that will resonate with pop culture enthusiasts. For those unfamiliar, Victor Newman is the central character of the cult TV series “The Young and the Restless”, whose iconic theme song was famously sampled by Mary J. Blige in “No More Drama” and by Booba in “Pitbull”. An unexpected bridge between daytime soap operas and hip-hop culture.

The track’s instrumental production is handled by Atake, alongside Juko and Quioh. A rising figure in rap production, Atake recently collaborated with Decimo on “DKR”, SDM on “Cartier Santos”, Graya on “Mode de vie #1”, and Chaax on “La Prise”.

Throughout his career, the beatmaker has also worked with international artists such as Quavo and the rapper Future. On “Victor Newman”, the production proves both powerful and explosive, giving Dosseh the perfect platform to unleash his trademark punchlines, a skill for which he has always been recognized:

“Je rentre au shtar avec le blaze sali
J’en ressors blanchi comme un Balkany”

or again:

“Ces FDP disent que j’ai changé
J’ai changé quoi à part la donne”

The visual, deliberately minimal and reminiscent of a freestyle aesthetic, was directed by Zack. The filmmaker had already directed Dosseh’s previous video for “Appels manqués”, and also worked behind the camera for “Yamaha” by Kofs and Fayv.
