The first excerpt from the fifth compilation “Raï’n’B Fever” has just surfaced. The “Raï’n’B Fever” compilations have produced timeless classics such as “Bienvenue chez les bylkas” by Sinik and “Sobri” by Leslie. The concept of these compilations was launched by DJ Kore and Skalp. The fifth edition is overseen by the founder of A.W.A, DJ Kore. For this first excerpt, the producer invited Hamza.
DJ Kore invites Hamza for “Lalla”!
Recently, DJ Kore has been involved in other collective projects such as the soundtrack of the film “Taxi 5” and the film “En passant pécho”, marking the reconciliations between Kore and Lacrim. The choice of Hamza is obvious, as the rapper has explored different styles. With “140 BPM 2”, he pays homage to Drill, he has explored ethereal sounds with “1994”, and has even created a pop feature with Christine and the Queens and Oxmo Puccino on a remix of the soundtrack of “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”.
The track was composed by Kore. It blends Raï and urban influences. In “Lalla”, Hamza uses his talent to create this cultural synergy. In the Maghreb countries, the word “Lalla” is an honorary title for a woman. And Hamza’s little gimmick Hamza “Lalalali lala” is a Raï classic.
The video, shot in the Maghreb, illustrates a long journey in a country where the sun never lies. It was directed by Chndy, a renowned photographer, video maker, and director living between Dubai and Riyadh, and a respected local figure.
