Dadeesy Blends Belgian and Brazilian Roots on “Sans Trace”

August 24, 2026

Dadeesy is a Belgian rapper with Brazilian roots who has spent most of his life in Saint-Gilles, Belgium. Growing up between different cultures has naturally shaped his music. As a young songwriter and performer, he has spent the past few months developing a sound where multiple influences collide, with each new single bringing his artistic identity into sharper focus.

While melody-driven rap has become an important part of his sound, Dadeesy has no intention of limiting himself to a single lane. Moving between rap, R&B, Afro-inspired sounds and influences drawn from his Brazilian heritage, he puts melody and emotion first. This musical diversity also goes hand in hand with another key element of his songwriting: his taste for storytelling.

Human relationships and their contradictions are at the heart of many of his songs. Desire, attraction, vulnerability, emotional distance and the struggle to truly move on: Dadeesy draws on these situations to build stories that unfold throughout his music.

Following “5-6 coups de flamme” and “Un bâtard pas comme les autres”, the rapper returns with “Sans Trace”, a track that continues this exploration while placing the cultural blend at the heart of his identity even more firmly in the spotlight.

Dadeesy showcases his multicultural identity on “Sans Trace”!

On “Sans Trace”, Dadeesy tells the story of a relationship caught between desire and contradiction. The song explores the urge to start over, erase what came before and turn the page, while never quite managing to let go of the attraction and emotions that remain.

The production is handled by Trave. Musically, the track borrows certain elements from R&B, although assigning it a strict genre label would be both difficult and somewhat beside the point. Melody plays a central role, allowing Dadeesy to move naturally between different influences while keeping storytelling at the core of the song.

More importantly, “Sans Trace” marks another step in the development of his artistic identity. Born in Brazil but deeply connected to Saint-Gilles and Belgium’s French-speaking music scene, Dadeesy now wants to give this dual cultural identity an even greater role in his music.

Portuguese is therefore set to gradually join French in his upcoming releases. The goal is not simply to switch back and forth between two languages, but to make them coexist naturally and turn that combination into a genuine artistic signature. Through this blend, Dadeesy wants to pay tribute to his Brazilian roots while staying true to the musical universe he has been building since his earliest releases.

This evolution could also see Brazilian influences play a more prominent role in his future productions. Rap, R&B, Afro-inspired sounds, French and Portuguese would no longer exist as separate elements, but as different components of the same musical universe.

With “Sans Trace”, Dadeesy is therefore not choosing between his different influences: he is beginning to bring them together. The track builds on the work of his previous singles while offering a clearer picture of where he wants to go next — towards a French-speaking sound where Belgium and Brazil can naturally meet.
