DA Uzi reconnects with the “Boîte Noire” universe through “Mon Enfer”

DA Uzi kicked off 2025 with force, dropping his latest project “Original Gangsta”. In its first week, the Sevran native achieved an impressive 6,000 sales across all platforms, debuting straight at #4 on the French Top Albums chart. A solid performance that reinforces his consistency as an artist in constant motion — one who effortlessly switches between raw street rap and more introspective, melodic cuts.

Building on the momentum of his freestyle series “WeLaRue”, the rapper keeps the collaborations coming and unveils the track “Mon Enfer” on the compilation “Boîte Noire”. This collective project, launched by Ninho, gathers major figures of the French rap scene including Niska, Naza, DA Uzi, 1PLIKÉ140, and Leto. Together, they deliver a raw and authentic snapshot of what modern French rap is all about — gritty, street-rooted and unapologetically real.

The production is handled by Churass, a rising beatmaker steadily making his mark on the French rap landscape. He’s previously produced “Gratte-Ciel” by HMZ and “Pilon Gras” by Bello & Dallas, and earned a Gold certification for his work on “Deux Mille” by SCH. Here, Churass delivers a refined, minimalist production built around a melancholic piano sample and a crisp trap rhythm — perfectly tailored to DA Uzi’s storytelling energy.

DA Uzi opens up in his signature style — a storytelling that’s both raw and poetic. Through vivid imagery and sharp references, he shares his scars and street truths without filters:

“They all claim they’ll spill blood like Cersei,
hearts on lockdown, Damocles’ sword hanging over their necks, yeah.”

Before following up with another striking bar:

“The block is ruthless, when you die they just laugh,
I love the weekends when I pull in 10K.”

The visual, equally meticulous, extends the narrative through a short storytelling sequence rooted in the realities of the neighborhood. Directed by Playard, it captures the dark and realistic essence of DA Uzi’s world — perfectly in tune with the artistic direction of the compilation “Boîte Noire”, released last Friday.
