It’s time to take stock of the meteoric rise of Bouss, an artist now undeniable on the French rap scene. Signed to Believe, he makes a powerful statement with his track “Depuis le temps”, which has been certified platinum. On May 30th, he continues his ascent with the re-release of his album “Et si j’échoue”, a project that has also been awarded a gold record. In an interview with Fred Musa, Bouss shared that if there was one thing he could change in the world, it would be “the sharing of wealth”.
To mark this new chapter, the rapper unveils the track “Nowhere”, a musical introspection that accompanies the re-release of his project. Through this song, he takes a clear-eyed look at his journey, reflecting on both his successes and doubts.
Bouss releases an exclusive track from the re-release of “Si j’échoue”!
The instrumental production of this track is by Asieux, a beatmaker who has proven his skills by working with Moha MMZ on “Libre”, Djadja & Dinaz on Alpha, and DTF on “G.A.G” and “Holà”. The track, which carries a slightly melancholic vibe, is built around delicate piano notes, and it’s with palpable emotion that Bouss sings more than he raps. Through his lyrics, he sheds light on his certainties and his doubts:
“I didn’t call anyone, things weren’t going well, I was smoking all the time,
Now I won’t sign unless it’s 200,000.”
The music video, directed by Kespey, follows Bouss throughout his day as he receives his gold record, hits the studio, and strolls through the streets of Paris at night. Kespey, a loyal collaborator, has followed Bouss on all his travels and is behind many of his visuals, including for “Et si j’échoue”, “Un Vœu”, “Je suis en indé”, and “Coloré”.
