An explosive chemistry between Dinos and Zed on “Stacks”

After “Hiver à Paris”, Dinos is set to release “Kintsugi” on November 29. A true aesthete of rap and a master of words, the rapper continues to leave a mark with “Stacks”, a powerful collaboration with Zed, unveiled three weeks after his daring “Brother Mouzone freestyle”. This duo, previously noted for their work on “Tant de signes” alongside Oldpee, a member of 13 Block, showcases another facet of their creativity here. While the track is undeniably trap, it remains meticulously written, offering a departure from Dinos‘ usual blend of poetry and melancholy.

The musical production of “Stacks” is the result of remarkable teamwork by Boumidjal, Holomobb, Seezy, and Blazerfxme. A former member of Double X, Boumidjal frequently collaborates with the duo Holomobb. Together, they have crafted standout tracks like “Goulag” for Kaaris and “Distant” for Maes. Seezy, signed to Capitol, is a renowned beatmaker known for his work with Vald and for composing “Musique Nègre” for Kery James. As for Blazerfxme, a Russian producer, his rare involvement in French rap adds a unique touch to this project.

Dinos begins this collaboration with a subtle melody before the track takes on a decidedly more energetic turn. An intense trap production supports both artists, bringing power and dynamism to the performance.

The punchlines are sharp and daring, embodying a confident egotrip style:
“You were chasing girls, we were chasing deals, piles of cash, it’s not the same mission, puta madre”
and
“The kids dream of women in big suites and signing with Rec. 118.”

With raw energy and a bold message, this track transcends the genre. Staying true to their convictions, the two artists don’t shy away from making a political statement: “F*** the RN.”

The music video, directed in black and white by Bishop Nast, delivers a sophisticated cinematic aesthetic, drawing on American inspirations and the captivating atmosphere of “Helsinki”. Bishop Nast, who previously worked with Zed on the video for “Zedeudé”, once again proves his talent. This visual enhances the anticipation for the album “Malcolm”, promising a project that lives up to the ambitions of its creators.
