He is far from being the most prolific artist. The last album by A$AP Rocky was released in 2018. With “Testing”, the American rapper once again asserts his style: an aesthete, much like Tyler, The Creator, who delivers an auditory and visual aesthetic bordering on perfection. The artist has recently delayed the release of “Don’t Be Dumb”, his new opus. He also took the opportunity to unveil the video for “HighJack”, a two-part track featuring Jessica Pratt.

A$AP Rocky unveils “Don’t Be Dumb” six years after “Testing”!

According to recent rumors, the project “Don’t Be Dumb” will feature collaborations with Tyler, The Creator, Pharrell Williams, Mike Dean, Hitkidd, Madlib, and Metro Boomin. It’s a tracklist that matches the ambition of the perfectionist rapper, who last released his project “Testing” six years ago, which included a standout feature with Moby.

*”HighJack”*: the new track from A$AP Rocky!

The instrumental composition of the track was crafted by Greg Kurstin, Jordan Patrick, Zach Fogarty, and Hitkidd. Greg Kurstin is a legend in the United States. He collaborated with Kendrick Lamar on the track “Love”, from “Damn”, but he has also composed songs for Adele and Sia. The composition is slow and supports the two parts of the track.

In the first part, A$AP Rocky delivers punchlines in a style he has cultivated since the release of his project “AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP”: “Catch me on the block, not the web, this ain’t Minecraft.” In this two-part track, Jessica Pratt then takes over to accompany the end of the song.

The video was directed by AWGE and Thibaut Grevet. In black and white, it is rooted in symbols and metaphors. Thibaut Grevet also collaborated with Eddy de Pretto for the direction of the video for the track “Random”.
