Interview – X.irda & ReMark break the rules with Losing Control

X.irda, a 23-year-old producer from Lyon, and ReMark, a 19-year-old Slovak singer-rapper, found instant musical chemistry.
X.irda started making music at 16, moving between electronic beats and piano, and his career really took off after 2021. ReMark, a songwriter since childhood, shifted from electronic and rock to vocals and rap in 2019. Their first joint album, Losing Control, a 10-track project, drops on August 29. It delivers a rare fusion, innovative production, and raw emotion—a project set to leave its mark.

 Joint Interview – X.irda & ReMark

Hellsinky: Hey guys! So how did this collaboration come about? X.irda: A DM, a beat that had been lying around, a few coffees, and ReMark doing something crazy on it… ReMark: And a mic that didn’t survive the first session… We knew right away something was happening.

Hellsinky: What has this collaboration changed for you, both personally and artistically? X.irda: Working with ReMark was a real turning point. His energy, his creativity, and his tone bring something unique. He’s incredibly talented, still underrated. His voice can jump from lyrical to rock in a single bar. Honestly, it shook me. ReMark: Thanks brother… X.irda is one of the most talented artists I’ve ever worked with. He’s precise, genuine, patient, always pushing you higher. Even when he sends me a DM at 3 a.m. to redo a hook!

Hellsinky: You worked on a full project together, but which track hits you the hardest? X.irda: Distance, no doubt. It’s fragile, honest, almost bare. But honestly, I love them all—each track carries a piece of our story. ReMark: Distance too. It’s the one that lingers, even when the sound is off. We captured it at a very particular moment. Few words, a lot of emotions.

Hellsinky: What’s the overall vibe of Losing Control? X.irda: It’s a controlled crash. A downward spiral with bursts of light everywhere. Each track tells the story of losing your footing… or regaining control in your own way. ReMark: It’s like an inner survival album. Instead of a Swiss army knife, you’ve got beats and hooks.

Hellsinky: ReMark, what’s it like singing over X.irda’s beats? ReMark: Dangerous. You take one step and you fall straight into emotion. His productions force you to be real. X.irda: And I rig the terrain so he slips right at the perfect moment, haha.

Hellsinky: Between you two, who’s more of a perfectionist? X.irda: We challenge each other more than we stress. ReMark: Yeah, we’re kind of twisted. I once redid a hook just because my heartbeat wasn’t the same as the day before.

Hellsinky: What’s the weirdest thing you did in the studio? ReMark: I sang a hook in total darkness, headphones on, eyes closed. By the end, I wasn’t sure if I was in the studio or in my own head. X.irda: I recorded the sound of opening a soda can and pitched it into a hi-hat. Nobody noticed… until now.

Hellsinky: Where do you usually work? ReMark: My home studio—it’s my sacred spot. My mic has heard everything in my life. X.irda: For me, it’s up north in Lyon. Each of us has our cocoon, but ideas travel fast. ReMark: At this point, DMs and emails fly nonstop.

Hellsinky: If you had to describe the album in three words? X.irda: I don’t know (laughs). ReMark: Yeah, feels like too many questions already (smiles).

Hellsinky: And if Distance were a person? X.irda: Someone you loved, but never really knew. ReMark: A ghost that hugs you tight ans whispers “it’s gonna be okay.”

Hellsinky: Outside of music, how do you disconnect? X.irda: Music club, badminton. ReMark: Handball—it’s perfect to let off steam.

Hellsinky: Last one: do you see yourselves collaborating again in the future? X.irda: We’ve still got a lot in the tank, yeah. ReMark: Let’s be real, it’ll happen—like a beat that keeps haunting you.

Hellsinky: Any upcoming videos? X.irda: Yes, we’re dropping Rainbows on August 29, the same day the album releases. After that, every week for two months a new video will be out. Each track gets its own visual. Don’t miss Rainbows, Let Go, and Innocent—three powerful songs with equally striking visuals.

Hellsinky: Thanks to both of you for this chat. We can’t wait to discover Losing Control on August 29! X.irda: Thanks to you. ReMark: Čoskoro sa uvidíme!
