Zed and Green Montana Aim for the “Fame”

When Stavo announced that “BLO III was not planned”, the members of 13Block quickly reinvented themselves, diving into collaborations and solo projects at a remarkable pace. Zed, for instance, made a strong impression with a legendary feature alongside Booba on “Jauné” and the release of his solo project, “Malcolm”. The project, as suggested by its title, pays homage to both Malcolm X, the historical figure, and the Spike Lee movie. However, despite its evocative name, “Malcolm”, which features collaborations with Laylow, Zola, Kore, Ziak, Josman, Jolagreen23, Nekfeu, and SDM, is not rooted in conscious rap as one might expect. True to 13Block‘s identity, Zed showcases boundless creativity, whether solo or as part of the group. 13Block embodies a distinctly American vision of music, blending authenticity with innovation seamlessly.

Recently, the rapper unveiled “Fame”, a track featuring Green Montana. This song, sharing its title with a cult movie exploring the sacrifices tied to the pursuit of success in the music industry, reimagines the concept for today’s generation. While the original movie was championed by the legendary Irene Cara, this version by Zed and Green Montana offers a modern and ambitious perspective—a true next-gen take on “Fame”.

Zed and Green Montana Aim for the “Fame”

The production of “Fame” is crafted by the talented Training Center, a beatmaker known for his collaborations with HD La Relève (“Élastiqué”, “C’est le binks”, “Somebody”) as well as with artists like ElGrandeToto (“Bling Bling”) and Joé Dwet Filé (“Corazon”). The instrumental of “Fame” is a true gem, combining elegance and sophistication. The sample, while modernized, evokes the iconic sounds of the American music scene from the 2000s, delivering a refined *caviar rap* experience.

On this majestic production, Zed and Green Montana display their full range of talents. With sharp egotrips and catchy gimmicks, they glide effortlessly over the luxurious instrumental:

“C’est comme a-c que j’commence les bails / Le chargeur est blindé, on t’annonce les tailles / La bécane est volée, le casque est Arai (Arai).”

A Music Video Matching the Elegance of the Track

The music video for “Fame”, like its production, exudes luxury and sophistication. Directed by Ameya and Nadym, and produced by Digital Nak, the polished visual depicts the artists living a life of opulence. This duo of directors is no stranger to major productions, having previously worked on the video for “Carré Ok” by Gims and Soolking. Additionally, Ameya contributed to the post-production of “Mon année” by Guy2Bezbar.

With “Fame”, Zed and Green Montana push the boundaries of their artistry. Combining undeniable musical power with flawless visual aesthetics, they reaffirm their status as leading figures in the contemporary rap scene.
