Done deal, the new Jul has arrived. With “Décennie,” the Marseille rapper unveils yet another free album. Since 2019, Jul has been the most listened-to French rapper in history, surpassing IAM and MC Solaar. He has revealed two collective albums that brought together, in turn, the entire Marseille (all generations included) and both Paris and Marseille. Solo, the rapper is prolific and has unveiled more than a dozen albums. He has a habit of releasing free projects. In Europe and France, his style is emulated. Yes, Jul initiated the “sounds à la Jul,” identified by a certain Mouloud Achour in an interview.
Jul releases “Love de toi”!
The track “Love de toi” is taken from “Décennie,” which also features significant collaborations, including Rim’K, Zkr, le Rat Luciano, Baby Gang, Alonzo, SCH, DYSTINCT, and KVRA. The free project also includes two tracks from two young rappers signed to his album “D’Or et de Platine”: Moubarak and Houari.
The track was produced by Jul himself. It’s not a big surprise since Jul composes most of his pieces himself. And he’s not called “La Machine” for nothing, as according to some reports, he is capable of creating a beat in a few minutes.
In this somewhat lively track, Jul tells a love story in the style that has made him successful, with a catchy chorus. The video was directed by William Thomas. The director works as much with independent rappers as with rap stars. For example, he directed the collaboration between Gazo and Heuss L’Enfoiré on “Sayian.”
