Julian Casablancas unveils a new track with his band, The Voidz! You might have already come across him on Daft Punk’s latest album with the song “Instant Crush.” Julian Casablancas is making a grand comeback with his group on the track “Prophecy of the Dragon.”
Since their last album, “Virtue,” released in 2018, we haven’t heard much from this band that made their mark in the music world a few years ago with the project “Tyranny.” The track was produced by Ivan Wayman, Justin Raisen, and Sadpony.
The band has also recorded a contribution for the GTA soundtrack. As usual, the track is a hybrid. It intertwines mind-bending guitar riffs reminiscent of hard rock but morphs throughout the song, allowing Julian Casablancas’ captivating voice to shine through. There are distinct sections within the track, multiple phases. This deconstruction of genres is characteristic of an era that breaks to rebuild.
The track also carries a retro touch, reminiscent of UK pop, and Casablancas plays a significant role in that aspect.
