Liim’s made a strong impression in 2024 with the release of Mentalité Baara, a rich and diverse project that refines his musical identity by blending trap, drill, and introspective tones. He now returns with Scintiller, a single with “positive vibes” that hints at the possible arrival of a new project.
In an interview with La Consult, the artist reflects on the essential role played by his country of origin, Côte d’Ivoire, both personally and musically.
Liim’s bets on Scintiller
The production of Scintiller was originally crafted by Tarrik Azzouz and Lenyz, two heavyweight producers from the U.S. known for working with major names such as Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, and DJ Khaled.
The track was later reworked by Shuriken Music, one of France’s most prominent beatmakers today. His recent credits include Triple V with Werenoi, Damso, and Ninho, Collabo with Niska and Ninho, and Baby Boo with Kpoint, Naza, and Joé Dwèt Filé.
The track stands out with its sunny energy, melodic hooks, and “feel-good” vibe — a far cry from the “dark drill” that Liim’s is also known to master.
Here, he delivers a smooth and confident “egotrip”, brought to life in a polished music video directed by KJ Production. The clip opens with Tarrik Azzouz on piano and follows Liim’s through a series of cinematic scenes: in a luxurious villa, behind the wheel, and in the studio.
KJ Production, a major player in the French rap visual scene, has previously delivered standout visuals such as Walidia by RK, Fugazi by Lacrim, and CDQDOP by Hös Copperfield.
