ZKR and Massine strike with “Cœur Lourd”!

ZKR has recently unveiled his ambitious project “Mode opératoire Vol 1”, backed by the prestigious label Morning Glory. With the support of DJ Belleck, brother of DJ Kore, the label now accompanies him daily. For this new work, the rapper from Roubaix has brought together an elite lineup from the street rap scene, featuring major names such as Werenoi, Jul, Zed, Lesram, Freeze Corleone, and Massine. After releasing the hard-hitting single “X-ADV”, ZKR continues to promote “Mode opératoire Vol 1” by highlighting the moving track “Cœur Lourd”, taken from this opus.

ZKR and Massine strike with “Cœur Lourd”!

The track that closes the album stands out in ZKR‘s discography. Unlike his usual style, the artist focuses more on rapping than singing, showcasing a different side of his talent. As part of the new generation of rappers, like ISK, ZKR impresses with sharp phrasing and hard-hitting punchlines. On this track, Massine joins him on guitar, creating a captivating ballad around the delicate theme of migration—a subject that has been explored since the legendary “Abdel Kader” by Rachid Taha.

The composition of the track, equally gripping, is credited not only to Massine but also to Sim Izi. This beatmaker, a member of the collective “La Miellerie” and of Belgian origin, has already left a mark with productions like “BX Drill 7” by Gotti Maras and “M3” by Gutti. The production, both powerful and slow in BPM, perfectly complements the melancholic atmosphere emanating from both artists.

The video, shot in Morocco by the talented Hustler Premium, vividly portrays the poignant story of many migrants stranded on the shores of the Mediterranean. The striking phrase, “We travel light because our hearts are heavy”, captures the gravity of the situation. Driven by a remarkably fine storytelling, the visual highlights the exceptional craftsmanship of Hustler Premium, now a key player in the industry. Active for over 15 years, this production company has notably collaborated with Maes on “Interpol”, and is also behind projects like “Chez nous” by Boubson and Elams.
