Zed unveils “M3” at “Performance Véritables”

Zed stands as one of the pillars of 13 Block. A new chapter begins for the group when Stavo hints that “Blo III” is not yet on the horizon. This marks the moment when Oldpee, Zed, and Stavo himself each embark on solo careers. However, this is not a breakup: the Sevran members continue to collaborate, as shown by Zed and Oldpee teaming up with Dinos on “Tant de signes”. Each artist follows their own path while preserving the group’s collective DNA. Some observers draw parallels to the strategy of the Wu-Tang Clan, who launched solo careers for its members after “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)” before reuniting for “Wu-Tang Forever”—an iconic model, forever immortalized with the track “Reunited” and its legendary violin sample.

In May 2024, Zed releases “Malcom”, a dense and ambitious album featuring a star-studded lineup: SDM, Nekfeu, Laylow, Kore & Zola, Ziak, Jolagreen23 & Josman, Green Montana, and La Mano 1.9. In the opening freestyle, “#Zedeudé (60)”, he pays tribute to Spike Lee‘s film “Malcolm X” through a striking visual. More mature and cohesive than his earlier EPs, the project sells 10,490 units across all platforms in its first week, landing just behind “JVLIVS”.

As part of his promotional tour, the artist stops by the “Performance Véritables” studios alongside DJ Flexta and Le Boug Arknow, launching what promises to become a must-visit platform for skilled rappers.

The track is driven by the sharp production work of Focus Beatz, a longtime collaborator of Ziak since the “Akimbo” era. He continues his creative synergy with Zed on tracks like “Sac à 3K” and “Cheval Rouge” (featuring Momsii), crafting a raw atmosphere perfect for an explosive freestyle.

In a gritty, provocative egotrip, Zed spits: “Tu veux pas arrêter de me casser les couilles à me demander comment je vais alors que tu t’en bats les couilles” and “Et toi tu veux tout savoir, cousin, t’es bizarre”. Le Boug Arknow adds extra energy to “Malcom” with his lively ad-libs.

With a production style worthy of America’s biggest hip-hop platforms, “Performance Véritables” is already establishing itself as a key player in the French rap scene.
