Before being crowned in the third season of Nouvelle École, Youssef Swatt’s had already built a solid career.
The Belgian rapper had been performing on stage alongside legendary groups like IAM before finally achieving widespread recognition. Since then, he has released his EP Chute Libre, an eight-track project featuring collaborations with renowned artists such as Youssoupha and Sofiane Pamart. The “Prim’s Parolier” and the piano prodigy, who has worked with both Bon Entendeur and Rim’K from 113, bring a unique touch to the work. He has just unveiled the visual for Tomorrow Will Be Better, a collaboration with Youssoupha, showcasing the meeting of two lyrical masters.
Youssef Swatt’s and Youssoupha remind us that Tomorrow Will Be Better!
A refined and masterful production
The instrumental composition of this track is crafted by Lucci Prod, who had already made an impression with another song from the EP Chute Libre, titled The World That Spins Around Me. This talented beatmaker has also produced Luxure for Seth Sad and Thot for Aga. Staying true to his signature sound, the production remains subtly paced, allowing both artists to deliver their verses with remarkable precision and elegance:
“We grow older but never really grow up
Over time, at sixty, I saw my parents become children again
The diagnosis slipped, the first time I saw my shrink, I put on a beat and rapped
I used to be lost like Area 51, now I’m as well-known as bus 71”
Youssoupha, whose sharp pen has been celebrated for over two decades, once again showcases his talent:
“Tell my girl I won’t suffer alone, better to suffer together
But she left, I can’t sleep, tomorrow will be better”
A powerful and immersive visual
The music video was directed by Benjamin Gelder during a live concert. The director skillfully alternates between footage of their stage performance and carefully selected transition sequences. Benjamin Gelder, known for his work with pop artists like the band Colt, was the perfect choice to capture the energy and emotion of Youssef Swatt’s concert.
